Autriya Maneshni is entering her senior year at Arizona State and her fourth year with Blaze. After being Music Director last year, Autriya will now serve as Station Manager. Before even coming to ASU, she knew that she wanted to one day broadcast her voice over Blaze. She started out as a DJ and now hosts a Middle Eastern Music show because of her Iranian heritage. For Autriya, radio has become a part of her personality. She interned with KJZZ, the NPR affiliate station here in Arizona, and loved getting to interview some amazing people and produce original content for the station. Autriya is a total music nerd. She was in choir for seven years and loves to make Spotify playlists just for fun. She is also teaching herself how to play the ukulele and guitar.

Autriya will always hold her 9:00-10:00 p.m. DJ shifts during her freshman year close to her heart because without them, she would not be where she is today. In her free time, she enjoys drinking lots of coffee, singing and playing her ukulele and hanging out with her friends.

A fun fact about her is that she has collected 19 pairs of Converse and does not plan on stopping the collection process anytime soon.

Gideon Kariuki is a senior majoring in public service and public policy. He is in his fourth year with Blaze and his second as program director, after joining Blaze in his first semester at ASU. At Blaze he has mostly been involved with the news department, co-hosting two shows in the department (The Review Squared and Hypothetically Speaking). In his time at Blaze he has learned that the three minute out rule exists for good reason and that producing a show you are an active part of is often a delicate balancing act. He would love to hear your ideas about the station’s programming and is looking forward to all the great things Blaze members will do this year.

Mallory is a senior at ASU studying Sports Journalism. Last year, Mallory was the inaugural Webmaster for Blaze Radio. Blaze Radio runs in Mallory’s blood as her older brother, Jeremy Schnell, was involved in Blaze in his time at the Cronkite School.

She was born and raised in Miami, Florida and is a fan of the Miami Heat, Florida Panthers, and all other sports teams in the South Florida area.

Susan is a graduate student at the Cronkite School studying Sports Journalism. She is entering her second year as Social Media Director. Susan started out as the 2019-20 ASU women’s basketball photographer for Blaze. In her second year with the station, she joined the sports social media team and managed the Twitter and Instagram feeds, increasing live-coverage at games and elevating the graphics and content.

She was born and raised in San Francisco, CA and grew up playing a variety of sports, including football. In her free time, Susan enjoys cooking, exploring new places and making cringey TikToks. She is also obsessed with sneakers, fried chicken and sunsets.
